9 Days Tibet Peach Blossom Festival Tour

Welcome to Tibet! Your guide and driver will welcome you at Nyingchi Airport in the morning. Flight from Chengdu to Nyingchi is highly recommended, which arrives at Nyingchi before 10am. Guide will help you with Alien Travel Permit applying in Nyingchi city before trip starts.

Tour starts in the afternoon, on the way to Lulang (150km), you will visit Gala Peach Blossom Village 嘎啦桃花村 by the Niyang River. It is surrounded by hundred mile of wild peach blossom forests, not only an administrative village, but also known as the “No. 1 Peach Blossom Village”. More than 1200 wild peach trees of over 270 acres form a “paradise on earth”. When spring comes, peach blossoms bloom one after another, pink and rosy all over the mountains, such a bright and beautiful landscape. Passing Lulang Forest, you visit Lulang Forest Viewing Platform 魯朗林海觀景台 which will give us great views of Namche Barwa (peak elevation 7756 meters), Gyala Pelri, and other high snow-capped mountain peaks. If the weather is fine, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Namjagbarwa (Namcha Barwa) from a distance in Segrila Pass 色季拉山口 (the specific viewing effect depends on the weather conditions).

After breakfast in hotel, drive 300km to Ranwu Lake. En route, visit Guxiang Lake 古鄉湖, a freshwater barrier lake located 33km away from Bomi County, with an elevation of 2600 meters above sea level. It is 5 kilometers long, 2 kilometers wide at its widest point, and over 20 meters deep at its deepest point. Later, visit Bomi Peach Blossom Valley 波密桃花溝. The entire Valley stretches for around 30km and is the most beautiful peach blossom area in Nyingchi region. A great place to photography enthusiasts. In late afternoon, we will arrive at Ranwu Lake 然烏湖, which is surrounded by snow mountains. The melting water of ice and snow constitutes its main source of supply. Beside the lake, there are green grassland, farmland and vast forests.

Today, we will explore Laigu Glacier 来古冰川. The melting water of ice and snow of the flacier flows into Ranwu lake. Laigu Glacier includes Meixi, Yalong, Rojao, Donga, Xiongjia and Newma Glaciers.

Donga Glacier 東嘎冰川 is usually opened from April to September. The most famous spot of Donga Glacier is Blue Ice Cave. Take sightseeing bus from the Visitor Center to Summer Ranch (with a round trip distance of about 40km). After arriving at the Summer Ranch, hike to view the glacier with a round-trip distance of around 4km, altitude is about 4100-4200 meters. Horse riding is optional and payable locally.

After the visit, drive 200km to Bomi.

Visit Tashi Gang Village 扎西崗村 today. The small village is located in the lower part of a plateau mountain meadow, with green mountains on both sides forming an endless forest sea from low to high, consisting of shrubs and dense spruce, pine, and other tress. Between the green mountain is a neat meadow, where streams gather and flowers Bloom. Wooden fences and houses adorn the area, along with distant snowcapped mountains and nearby forests. It forms a serene and beautiful ”Mountain map”. In spring and summer, various flowers spread out in the green of the meadow forest. In autumn and winter, Tashi Gang Village welcomes the season with the thickest clouds and mist. With clouds and mist surrounded, the snowing peaks of the mountain are faintly visible.

After the visit, drive 230km back to Nyingchi via Segrila Pass at 4728.

After breakfast in hotel, you will visit Basomtso Lake 巴松措, which integrates snow mountains, lakes, forests, waterfalls, pastures, etc. You will visit the Cuozong Gongba Monastery 措宗貢巴寺 on the island. Cuozong Gongba means "castle in the lake" in Tibetan. The monastery was built around 1400 and practices in the Nyingma tradition. It is now a home to a few nuns.

Jieba Tibetan Village 杰巴村 is the best place to view Basomtso lake and the surrounding two snow mountains, which called "King's Throne國王寶座 " and "Burning Flame 燃燒的火焰".

Drive 490km to Lhasa, which takes around 7 hours.

Full day guided tour to visit Potala Palace & Jokhang Temple. Potala Palace 布达拉宫 was initially built in 641 AD and listed as a world heritage site in 1994. The halls, murals, statues and mountain views will make you shocked even if you are not a Buddhist. The Jokhang Temple 大昭寺 is the final destination for pilgrims. A statue of the 12-year-old Sakyamuni, who lived in India in the fifth century BC, and who was the creator of Buddhism, is collected in the monastery. This is the reason why Buddhists consider Lhasa a Sacred Land. Later in the afternoon, stroll at Barkhor Street 八廓街 to experience local Tibetan people's lifestyle.

This morning we’ll take a drive up to the Kampala Pass (elevation 4797 meters) where you’ll have a glimpse of Yamdrok Lake 羊卓雍湖 down below as well as spectacular views of the holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar in the distance. You will need your camera ready for the turquoise waters of Yamdrok Lake, which is one of the three holy lakes of Tibet, and the beautiful Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar glacier as seen from the Karol la Pass. Later on we’ll be able to visit the Karola Glacier 卡若拉冰川. Overnight in Shigatse (3840m) today.

In the morning, you will visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery 扎什伦布寺, the seat of Tibet's second highest incarnation - the Panchen Lama. After the visit, transfer back to Lhasa.

Today you will have free time until your tour guide escorts you to the Lhasa train station or airport for your departing train or flight from Lhasa.
