Chengdu Family Tour with Local Experiences

You will be welcomed by our local guide upon arrival in Chengdu and transfer to hotel check in. Free at leisure for rest of the day.

Panda visit is undoubtedly the top item for Chengdu tour or even China tour, especially for family with kids. After breakfast in hotel this morning, the guide will pick you up from hotel at around 8am and then drive to Chengdu Panda Breeding Center. We’ll be there early enough to catch up the time to see these lovely pandas enjoy bamboo for breakfast. After the breakfast, it’s time for playing – tracing each other, climbing up the tree, rolling on the ground. You can also visit the Baby Panda Nursery to see how to take care baby panda. Later, visit a wet market, the place can best reflect Chinese people’s lifestyle. It will offer a great experience for you to see how local people purchase vegetable, fruits, meat and spices for everyday cooking. There is chance to learn spring roll or wonton dumping making from venders. Enjoy an authentic Sichuan cuisine in local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head to Guanghan town to visit Sanxingdui Museum. Sanxingdui is an archaeological site reflecting a major Bonze Age culture, which known as the ancient kingdom of Shu in the 12th–11th centuries B.C. In the museum, you will see many excavated bronze objects in very unique design. Transfer back to hotel after the visit.

Today, you will go out of busy city to countryside for a half day leisure biking tour with your family. Ride bike along paved path with few vehicles between villages, you will see rice fields, irrigation system, rivers. You may stop at local farmer’s house, see how they do handicrafts like bamboo weaving and chat with them. Enjoy local food in a simple but clean restaurant – you can see how the chef cooks your foods. Back to downtown in the afternoon; visit famous Kuanzhai Alleys for local snacks. And then visit Renmin Park, another place that local people enjoy most – they do activities like playing music and dancing, and the most welcomed is playing Mahjong in local tea house. Our guide can teach you Mahjong, which might be your family’s next favorable activity.  After dinner, you will enjoy Sichuan Opera show to have a relaxing evening.

Guided excursion to Leshan Giant Buddha, a 71-metre tall stone statue built between 713 and 803 in Tang dynasty. Get to Leshan with around 2hrs drive from Chengdu. You will first take a short cruise on Minjiang River to get close to the world larges and tallest stone Buddha statue and view it from the river. Then enter the park and walk along the plank built at the Buddha’s side rocks from top to its feet. You will also go to visit the Mahao Tomb Caves, a special burial custom during the East Han Dynasty. There are about 500 tombs at the cliff, looks like honeycomb. Transfer back to Chengdu in the afternoon. If time permit, visit Jingli Street for free shopping and taste more snacks. Transfer to airport in time for your next destination.
