Yuanyang Rice Terraces Tour

Take flight or speed train to Kunming. Upon arrival be met and welcomed by your Easy Tour China guide, and transferred with a private vehicle to hotel.

Drive to Jianshui, 150 km south of Kunming. On the way, visit the Stone Forest Geopark (around 80km south-east of Kunming), which is a massive collection of grey limestone pillars, split by rain water and eroded to their present fanciful forms. Your guide will lead you to walk along an off-the-beaten path to explore the park, away from the tourist crowds. Check into your hotel in Jianshui Old Town. Enjoy the beautiful night view.

Visit the more than 700-year-old Jianshui Confucian Temple, the largest one in South China, hidden in the ancient trees. Then go to Family Zhu Courtyard House, exquisitely built with carved beams and painted rafters, overhanging eaves and richly ornamented halls. Further explore Jianshui Old Town, admiring the 600-year-old Chaoyang City Gate – the symbol of JIanshui. Then drive out of the town, and visit Double Dragon Bridge - a Seventeen arch stone bridge built in Qing Dynasty. It is one of the most beautiful ancient bridges in China.

After breakfast, drive to Yuanyang, mainly inhabited by Hani, Yi, Dai, Miao, Yao and other minority groups. Hani people work on the vast hillside fields for generations and have finally created this unique cultural landscape. Yuanyang Rice Terraces was listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2013. Visit Jingkou Hani Village to meet local Hani people. Glimpse their lifestyle and the unique mushroom-shaped houses. See the spectacular rice terraces at Tiger Mouth (Laohuzui). If weather permits, you can view the beautiful sunset at rice terraces.

If you wish to take some more awesome photos of Yuanyang Rice Terraces, get up early and view the sun rises when the soft golden sunlight shine upon over this beautiful land. Further explore Shengcun Village to experience the exotic Hani and Yi customs. And visit a traditional local market – people dressed in traditional costumes from nearby villages gather here to buy and sell all kinds of local specialty foods, vegetables and goods. Later today, drive for about 5 - 6 hours back to Kunming.

Free at leisure in the morning. You may explore Kunming on your town, Your guide and driver will pick you up and escort you to the airport according to your flight departure time. It is the end of your 6 days Yuanyang Rice Terraces tour.
