Exploration of Southwest China Tour

Take a leisurely cruise down Li River to enjoy spectacular natural sceneries, disembark at Yangshuo. After checking into the hotel, it is followed by an excursion to the countryside to see the local farmer’s life and beautiful landscape by either bike or golf-car-like vehicle. Overnight at Yangshuo.

Transfer for optional tour of taking bamboo raft down Yulong River (1.5 hour), and easy hike to the countryside near old town of Yangshuo to see the stunning scenery, rice paddies, water buffalo and local farmer’s life. Afternoon is free for your own exploration.

Drive back to Guilin in the morning, and visit the famous Reed Flute Cave, also called “Natural Arts Gallery”, it is filled with a large number of stalactites, stalagmites and rock formations in weird and wonderful shapes. Then enjoy a stroll at the central lakes at downtown. After lunch, transfer to Longji to see the stunning Dragon’s Back Rice Terraces and colorful minority lifestyle. Overnight at the local guesthouse at Ping An Village.

Walk up to a platform on the mountain to have a panoramic view of the area, and explore the Zhuang people’s village, and watch Yao ladies to make their unique hairdo. Transfer to the airport and fly to Kunming in the afternoon.

Make an excursion to the Stone Forest, a typical formation of Karst topography-- the most famous tourist attraction in Kunming. On the way, pay a visit to the local minority village to get close to local people’s life and customs. Then fly to Lijiang. Transfer to your hotel.

Drive to visit the holy mountain of local Naxi people - Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and watch Impression Lijiang Show, and take cable car up to the snowline to see the gorgeous peak. Then visit Baisha Mural, it was painted in Baisha Town in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), an interesting co-existence of Buddhism, Taoism and Lamaism in the artworks. And the last stop is at Yuhu Village to see local people's life.

Spend the whole morning exploring the famous Lijiang Ancient Town, originally called Dayan, it is a very well preserved old town built by Naxi people with unique cultural background. It was listed as the World Cultural Heritage Sites in 1997. Then go to Black Dragon Pool Park, to enjoy stunning sightseeing there and appreciate the nice view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in a distance. Pay a visit to Dongba Museum which has more than 10000 Dongba cultural relics and various other historical relics and offers the "Dongba Culture Exhibition". Later, go to Shuhe Old Town, the earliest settlement of Naxi people in Lijiang when their ancestors first moved to this region. Drive to the airport for the flight to Chengdu.

Go to the Panda Breeding Center to see the lovely creatures. This huge institution replicates the natural habitat of the giant panda and is dedicated to preserving and increasing their population so they will not become extinct. Then visit Jinsha Site Museum, which was regarded as the most significant archaeological discovery in the 21st century in China. Later, wander around Jinli Old street to do some shopping.

After breakfast, drive to Leshan to see the biggest stone-carved Buddha sculpture. The Giant Buddha was finished in 803AD of Tang Dynasty after 90 year's construction with a 71-meter height. You will take a cruise to see the whole picture on board. Then proceed to visit Baoguo Temple at Emeishan. Overnight at Emeishan.

Take a cable car up to Wannian Monastery, visit the holy mountain of Chinese Buddhists. Walk down the mountain and see the wild monkeys on the way. Then drive back to Chengdu.
