Wild China Escape

Arrive at Lanzhou Airport. Our guide will greet you at the exit of Arrival Hall. If time permits, transfer to visit White Pagoda Hill, a perfect place to have a bird-eye view of the town. There are three clusters of ancient buildings standing on top of the mountain. Later, check into the hotel. 

Drive from Lanzhou to Xiahe (5-6 hrs), during the route, pay a visit to Bingling Temple, its centuries-old stone-carving art is considered a gem of history and culture in China. Arrive in Xiahe. Go to the Sangke Grassland, where you can enjoy green grass, blue sky, mountains, sheep and yaks, etc. Then visit a nomadic people's family to experience their life and customs.

Visit Labrang Lamasery, which was first built in 1710 in the Qing Dynasty, and is one of the six major Lamaseries of the Gelugpa Sect of Lamaism in China. Then proceed to Langmusi.

Take a full day trip by car to Jiuzhaigou via Ruoergai (Zoige). It is well-known for its many multi-level waterfalls and colorful lakes, and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. Arrive at Jiuzhaigou before dinner.

Enjoy full day sightseeing in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Reserve, which encloses one of the most spectacular landscapes. It was settled centuries ago by ethnic Tibetans, whose fenced villages gave Jiuzhaigou (nine villages gully) its name.

Visit Huanglong Scenery Area, it is studded with terraced, 3400 multi-colored ponds (blue, yellow, white and green) and waterfalls. Then take a flight to Chengdu. Be met and transferred to hotel.

Drive to see Panda Breeding Center in the morning. This huge institution replicates the natural habitat of the giant panda and is dedicated to preserving and increasing their population so they will not become extinct. Then take a visit to Jinsha Site Museum, which is home to the relatively isolated civilization of ancient Shu Kingdom from perhaps 3,000 years ago. Pay a visit to Wenshu Temple, the best preserved Buddhist temple in Sichuan. Later, enjoy a leisure time at a local tea house.

Drive 2 hours to visit Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest carved stone Buddha in the world with a height of 71 meters. Then proceed to Mt. Emei, which is one of the 4 famous sacred mountains for Chinese Buddhists.

Take a cable car up to the Wannian Temple --one of the eight largest temples on this mountain and translated as "Long Life Temple" in English. Then walk down to see the wild monkeys on the way. Drive back to Chengdu.
