Helen and I had a great time in China, the tour wawhat we wanted and the guides were excellent so no worries there. However, by the end we were both pretty exhausted.
There was nothing wrong with the accommodation in Shanghai and it was very clean. In fact the accommodation we least liked was the YMCA.
What happened was that we went to look at the Peace Hotel to see the old building and the artdeco and decided on the spot that we would indulge ourselves and spend the last two nights in some luxury there.
Thanks very much though for organising the change from our train journey to Shanghai to a flight. There was nothing wrong with the overnight trains apart from the privacy aspect but we decided that the 13 hour journey to Shanghai was not the best use of our time in China.
